The carpet manufacturing in Kazakhstan has old tradions. Integral part of the kazakh
portable dwelling - jurt are carpets and felts. In kazakh auls felt carpets, decorated
with ornamental motives, were widely used.The most widespread, centuries - old traditional
technique was applique - sewing on a felt an ornament of thin felt, cloth or cotton,
fabric. Folk craftsmen were makers of embrodier: carpets, especially wall hanging, were
decorated with fur, semi-precious stones, metal plates, etc.
